Flowers For My Mom

Hi Mom.  Happy Mother's Day.

Besides being the traditional weekend for moms,
I thought of you because I planted impatiens this weekend.
And impatiens always make me think of you.

I bought a flat of impatiens at a local nursery
and pulled out all my wintering pots from the garage.

Reuben ate a burrito, then dug in the dirt looking for worms.

Your front porches and yards have been so beautiful wherever you have lived because of the flowers (including lots of impatiens) you have planted.  For the next five months I get a lovely reminder of you as I open my curtains in the morning and as I come and go from our house.

They're small right now, but I love that they will grow and grow
and add so much color to our porch.

The green plants in the ground, in front of the porch,
will grow tall all summer, then bloom into purple
flowers later in the summer.

Happy Day to You, Mom.

Hi Stacey, It's nice to be remembered by something so pretty. Your impatiens look beautiful! I just planted some, too! We had a lovely Mother's Day Weekend--Sat. with David, Nicole, Gigi, Brody, Nick, and Karen; Sun. church, Dad made me his famous scrambled eggs for breakfast(!)AND he took me to Red Robin for dinner and then a walk around the lake. Just delightful! Love and hugs, Mom
